“ SO GOOD. And cheap. If you are studying abroad this is the spot. They have glasses of their house wine for €4. And its good. This place is also HUGE. It keeps going back into all these little dining rooms. I went with a group of 7 and we were seated in our own dining room it was amazing. They is also so much outdoor seating in covered patio things. They look so fancy and fun. The staff was so friendly and made sure to accommodate my friends with allergies such as gluten and dairy. They also were very patient with our lack of Italian. Even thought this place is huge its always so incredibly crowded so making a reservation is a very good idea (or go closer to 6 instead of 8). Lastly the food is amazing. Their menu is so vast. There is something for everyone no doubt. They brought bread which was disappointing (it tasted like it was frozen for days then thawed or something) but that is our only complaint- hopefully that was just a bad batch or something. Overall I will be coming back here a bunch of times while I'm abroad!!!! ”
“ Ambiance: it's located in the center area of Florence, very busy at night, reservation in advance is recommended, and walk-ins could take a long waiting time Service: lack of service, it took quite a while to place the order and get drinks and food, every server is busy and hard to get their attention Food & Drink: classic Italian food with a Tuscan emphasis Bread - *** average Truffled duck sauce Pappardelle - **** tasty meat sauce and chewy noodles, recommend Rigatoni alla Sorrentina - *** fresh tomato sauce with basil and Buffalo mozzarella, sour taste Zia Giuliana's Tagliere - ***** A sample of mixed salami, robiola and pecorino cheese, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, Zà Za style artichoke, panzerotti and marmalade, highly recommend for the variety Special caramel-topped Panna Cotta - ***** as claimed, the best in the word, so creamy and dense, highly recommend Large draught beer - *** average Price: very affordable prices and generous portions, expect €30+ per person for a decent dinner ”
“ The ambiance of trattoria za za's interior is unreal. I felt like I was in a painting. Our server was nice and aware of what we needed. The food itself was unbelievable! We got the wild boar rigatoni (or ragu I don't remember) and it was delightful. If you like a meaty pasta you would love this. We also got the truffled spaghetti al carbonara which my boyfriend loved! Hefty portions, so we were stuffed afterwards. We got the white bean soup based off of another review, and it was good, but I wouldn't get it again. ”
“ This place normally has a LONG waiting line. We walked by when they were about to open and the host was super nice and he sitted us. The service was excellent. The ambiance is welcoming, elegant, warm and inviting. We sat next to the window and we could see people walking by. It was cold outside and it was a welcome gesture to have cozy lap blankets. We had the traditional Ribolito Soup and the carbonara. They were both excellent. We finished our meal on a high note with coffee and Tiramisu. I highly recommend this place. ”
“ Stopped in here for lunch one day and such a great experience, we made reservations for our last night in Florence. The ambience is trendy with an eclectic, Tuscan charm. Located in Piazza del Mercato Centrale, the restaurant has been around since 1977 and has taken over most of the restaurants and shops on the street. Inside and outside is quite large and when you walk through the restaurant to your table each room has it's own charm. Reservations are a must for the evening, you can see the lines as you walk up. We didn't have a problem being seated for lunch without a reservation and with the dinner reservation we walked right up past the long line and were taken directly to a table. Every dish we ordered was impeccable. Spaghetti with Clams- perfectly cooked al dente pasta loaded with fresh clams. The Seafood Spaghetti was exactly the same but with shrimp, clams, calamari, and scallops, The taste just exploded with each bite. Za Za Sea Bass was tender with a mild and sweet delicate flavor. The lemon sauce was delicious and it was served with fresh zucchini, squash, carrots and brussel sprouts. We couldn't leave without another pasta dish so we ordered the Spaghetti with Prawns, Zucchini Flowers and topped with fresh Truffle. OMG... this was special. If you like truffle, and shrimp, this is a winner. Both meals here were memorable as was the service and of course the decor. When in Florence Trattoria Za Za is a must! ”
“ ZaZa! I miss ZaZa already. We went to ZaZa our first night in Florence and it did not disappoint! We got there around prime dinner time and fortunately they were able to seat us right away without a reservation. The inside is super cute and cozy. They have a lot of decor all over the walls and plenty of seating. We both ordered a red wine (sorry so much wine I figure which one was which). An order of the Carbonara (I tried carbonara everyday in Italy and this was second best!). And an order of the wild boar pappardelle! Wow! That wild boar dish was amazing. Both dishes and the experience set the bar high for the rest of our trip! We loved ZaZa so much we debated going back while in town multiple times. When I get back this will definitely be a place I plan on revisiting. ”
“ My pasta here was incredible. I got the truffle linguini, and the portion was massive and the pasta flavorful. My friend got the walnut ravioli and enjoyed hers as well, though the portion was smaller for the same price. The restaurant is huge, though extremely crowded. We were able to be seated right away at 6pm on a Friday in December, but I think you would typically need a reservation if you come at a peak time. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a great atmosphere. ”
“ I thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Za Za Utilized recommendations from family and Yelp to decide to make a reservation. The food is outstanding, well prepared and served hot. Ambiance inside the restaurant was beautiful, the restaurant is huge with what feels like 15 different dining rooms. There is covered outdoor dining. Service was fragmented, items were delivered that didn't belong etc. The carbonara was excellent and was the spaghetti with clams. The fried artichokes are flavorless....don't waste your time. The Parma plate was delicious....although we should have passed on it as we could have had room for something else. The affogato was perfect, the tiramisu was very good. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Florence. It was very touristy but there were plenty of locals as well. ”
“ Not only was this our last meal in Italy but it was easily one of our favorites. For a $$$ place I'd say it was overall relatively affordable and everything we ordered was worth the cost. We started with spritzes and prosciutto and melon,as was our routine by this point. I did try the ZaZa spritz which was the only thing I wouldn't personally recommend. Not to say it was bad but it was just medium- I would've preferred an aperol or Hugo spritz instead. My next move after the starter was tagliatelle which was some of the best pasta I had throughout the whole week. The sauce was delicious and the portion was great. I got to try the truffle ravioli too which was delicious - I wish I invested more in truffle meals while I had the chance . I did get a bit of truffle in my omelette which rounded out the meal - and my belly. I was stuffed by the end. Not only was the food great but the interior of Za Za was nuts. They have two different street facing entrances and the one we entered seemed like a never ending maze of rooms. It was huge but even so, every table was full. If you have a few nights in Florence I definitely recommend a meal at Trattoria Zà Zà, it was one of our favorites. DEFINITELY make a reservation or you may be waiting for a long time ”
“ Is this a tourist trap? Maybe--but the food is damn good. We had reservations and there are two lines, one for with and another without. The reservation line moves quickly. We were seated in the outdoor area. One thing I can say is that the servers and staff have their sh*t together unlike another " touristy" restaurant I went to a couple nights prior. The order was correct, service was quick and good. And the food! Hearty, comfort food. The truffle gnocchi was flavorful. The fries for our toddler were crisp and meat cooked and seasoned well. I can see how it can get frustrating when you don't have a reservation, but the wait is worth it. Tiramisu was great as well. ”
